Channel Islands mystery boom shakes buildings

© Unknown
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a mysterious boom which shook buildings across the Island on Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of Islanders reported hearing a loud bang - similar to a sonic boom - at 1.04 pm.

The boom was so loud it rattled doors and windows from Gorey to St Ouen and even measured on the Island's seismograph in St Aubin.

But despite speculation that the noise was caused by a military jet travelling faster than the speed of sound, Jersey Airport has confirmed that no aircraft capable of causing such a noise was in the Island's airspace at the time.

Mystery 'earthquake' boom near McCall puzzles scientists

© Unknown
McCall, Idaho -- You could call it a mystery earthquake, a sonic boom, or maybe nothing at all. Several witnesses report waking up to what they say was a small earthquake south of McCall early Thursday morning around 4:30 a.m. However, those shaky claims have employees at Idaho's U.S. Geological Survey scratching their heads in disbelief.

Mickey Hart lives five miles south of McCall just off Hwy. 55. The 50-year-old resident says she's only experienced one earthquake here, and it was in the summer of 2001. The second earthquake came early Thursday morning around 4:30 a.m. Hart says that's when her beloved border collie, Mr. Mac, detected the tremor before it hit.

"It was four in the morning, and the house shook," Hart said. "It woke up my husband and scared the crap out of my dog." However, for some folks here in Idaho, those reports just don't seem to make sense. U.S. Geological Survey Technical Information Specialist Tim Merrick said his agency's seismographs haven't shown any recent earthquake activity in Idaho. "If there was anything, it would almost certainly show up," Merrick said. "Our seismology network across the United States is very sensitive."

Mysterious Rocks Burn California Woman

San Clemente - A woman suffered third-degree burns after what appeared to be the spontaneous combustion of rocks that had been scooped up from a Southern California beach, a fire official said.

The 43-year-old woman's children collected the rocks Saturday at San Clemente Beach, and she tucked them into the pocket of her shorts, according to the Orange County Register.

While the woman was standing in her kitchen Saturday after returning from the beach, the rocks somehow caught fire, burning the woman's right thigh and knee, said Capt. Marc Stone of the Orange County Fire Authority.

A hoax, a large dog, or the beast of Hackney Marshes?
A strange creature has been captured on camera on Hackney Marshes - 30 years after the unexplained sighting of another mystery beast sparked a full-scale search for a suspected bear on the loose.

Terrified university student Helen Murray said she took the snaps while out for a stroll near dense woodland close to a path near the Old River Lea on bank holiday Monday earlier this month.

She said she was stopped in her tracks by the unknown animal, which was larger than a person and covered in shaggy black fur.

Mystery Object in Denver Skies Prompts FAA Investigation

The federal government is investigating the appearance of a mystery object spotted by a pilot in the skies over Denver Monday.

Updated at 3:30 p.m. ET: The Federal Aviation Administration emailed USA TODAY with the following statement regarding the object: " The FAA is investigating the incident and will try to positively identify the object the Citation pilot reported, where it came from and who was operating it."

Original post: A mystery object that flew over Denver Monday evening is raising questions and prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate, 9 News out of Denver reports.

The mystery object turned up when a Cessna corporate jet was flying at 8,000 feet above sea level, the news organization reports. At that point, recordings indicate, the pilot radioed to air-traffic control in a shaky voice: "A remote-controlled aircraft, or what? Something just went by the other way ... about 20 to 30 seconds ago. It was like a large remote-controlled aircraft."

UFOs Filmed Hovering Over U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Storage Area

Important New Revelations about the Paul Bennewitz Affair

UFOs over military base
Declassified U.S. government documents and military veterans have confirmed repeated UFO incursions at American nuclear weapons sites, decade after decade. (Declassified Soviet documents and former Soviet Army personnel verify that such incidents occurred in the former U.S.S.R. as well.)

During my September 27, 2010 "UFOs and Nukes" press conference in Washington D.C., retired U.S. Air Force (USAF) Col. Charles Halt discussed one such incident at the RAF Bentwaters airbase in England, on December 28, 1980, when a UFO was observed directing down laser-like beams of light onto various locations on the base. Radio chatter between USAF Security Policemen indicated that some of those fell within the boundaries of the USAF's Weapons Storage Area (WSA) where tactical nuclear bombs were kept in hardened bunkers.

CNN streamed the important press conference live and the full-length video may be viewed here:

[Stories of saucer crashes and retrievals are not the exclusive province of the American Southwest. The Pacific coast of South America has some interesting cases to offer, as we can see from Raul Núñez's "UFO Crash/Retrivals in Chile. Mr. Núñez is the director of his country's branch of the Instituto de Investigaciones Espaciales (IEEE) and a frequent contributor to Inexplicata. This article appeared in Issue #9 of the Inexplicata journal -- SC]

On October 7, 1998 at 15:45 hours, residents of Paihuano, a small village in Valle de Elquí (Chile) underwent an extraordinary experience which keep its 2,500 residents on the edge of their seats. A flying object described as having a metallic color and measuring some 15 meters across remained motionless over the Las Mollacas hill, from which the entire town could be seen.

The object began to rise and abruptly made a sudden turn that split it in two before the awestruck witnesses. One part of the object fell on hill's peak and the other behind it. Accounts collected on the field by this correspondent among the many persons who wintessed the uncanny event lead us to consider the following events: a) the object witnessed was metallic (silvery); b) the sun's rays reflected off its structure, aiding its visibility; c) Its shape was elongated; d) it remained on the summit of the hill throughout the afternoon of Wednesday the 7th, Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th, when it was removed by personnel in uniform; e) all of the townsfolk, including mayor Lorenzo Torres, witnessed the event; f) earthquakes were registered after the object fell to the ground; g) electric blackouts covered the entire region; h) radio and TV broadcasts throughout Paihuano, Pisco Elquí and Monte Grande (two neighboring towns) were disrupted.

UFO in Argentina: What happened at La Aurora (1977)?

[This article by our friend and colleague Pablo Villarubia appeared in Inexplicata #12 (Summer 2003). It describes one of the most shocking UFO incidents of the year 1977 - the so-called "Tonna Case", named after its protagonist, rancher Angel María Tonna - SC]

I left Montevideo behind and was heading toward the city of Salto on the Argentinean border, riding a dilapidated bus in order to rescue from oblivion the events which occurred one distant February 17, 1977. The central protagonist of the story was the owner of the La Aurora ranch, a man named Angel María Tronna. The victims included one dog, several sheep, a bull and one horse -- gravely affected by an object come from afar.

The first thing I did upon arriving was making a straight line toward the office of the El Pueblo newspaper to consult old newspapers which would put me on the track of the "Tonna Case". The Saturday the 19th edition was already legendary, since it presented the first news item on the macabre event.

Strange New UFO Found on Google Sky

An intrepid UFO hunter, with his eyes peeled on Google Sky, has spotted a strange, gigantic, disc-shaped object which defies conventional explanation. What is it?

The object, spotted by YouTuber planetkrejci, is circular and a mottled greenish-hue. Looking more like something out of a Hollywood movie than any known spacecraft, this and other anomalies found on the popular software app have yet to be explained convincingly.

Can it be just a glitch? Why are these objects so strangely shaped and colored? Is someone hoaxing Google? Is that technically possible?

No matter the explanation, it's one of the most interesting mysteries to hit the paranormal community in a while. Is it possible that these are real spacecraft built by another civilization?

If so, it would be the greatest story of all time. Hopefully, some imaging experts will start investigating these UFO sightings and come up with a theory that makes sense.
